“Painting Our World: Women’s Messages through Art” is a travelling exhibition that attempts to document and showcase traditional forms of expression that rural women have used to engage with social issues. These include various forms of traditional paintings, embroidery and other visual media that exist in rural India.

Over the years that we have been involved with this project, many groups have not only made posters available to us, but have offered us a whole range of other things from their  personal collections–photographs, documents, letters, manifestos, pamphlets, stickers, etc.
